REMPAR is growing, expanding and needs more space. The new workshop (600 square meters!) is located 10 minutes away from the center of Pirovac (new location — Stankovci 2). The chief of the company Dmitry Tatarchuk talks about the moving reasons, “collaboration” with Honda Marine and new opportunities for the company.
— What is the reason for moving to a new workshop?
Considering the trend of our development, we had to look for a loft that would allow us to work more efficiently, where there would be enough space for everything. Unfortunately, we are already cramped in this loft. The search process took quite a long time. We had to take into account many aspects. I have been looking at the building we are eventually moving to for a long time. In the new loft, it will be easier for us to speed up production processes. We will have a huge room for sewing sails, another room for winter service, storage, as well as many small rooms for everything else.
— Are there any technical or technological innovations planned for this space?
We are planning to buy several new sewing machines, a press, and some other things. We will increase few engineers to process orders faster.
— You have signed a contract with Honda Marine. Who is this, what is this, and why does REMPAR need such a “collaboration”?
Honda Marine is a very well-known and reliable company. First of all, these are yacht motors. They are very popular in Croatia — this is evident, since they have representative offices and services from Rijeka to Dubrovnik. Not long ago, they purchased this space, where we are moving. They are planning to make a large service of boat motors and boats themselves. In simple words, they are expanding. Let us say that we were in the right place at the right time, since we can offer their clients the manufacture and repair of various products — from sails to pillows. For us, this is an increase in work, as well as minimization of the wave-like process that occurs throughout the year due to seasonality. If we speak globally, Honda is more loaded in the summer, but we are loaded in the winter and spring. So when we leave the winter period, we immediately enter the summer period.
